So.. I've submitted my visa application form online and my paperwork package has been overnighted to the British Consulate General in Los Angeles, CA. It's guaranteed to arrive before 10.30am tomorrow morning (Monday.) I'm hoping I'll hear back from the consulate tomorrow afternoon/evening, and if all goes well, I'll know if I've been approved or not by then. The ultimate goal is to have my visa approved and returned to me along with my passport and birth certificate before the end of this week so I can stay on schedule to make it to Atlanta with a week to spare. My letter of resignation (two week notice) is already typed up and prepared, so it only needs to be printed and handed in on (hopefully) Tuesday.
All of my belongings are in or on their way to England at this moment, so I'm technically moved already. I just wait for my visa and my flight, which leaves on Nov. 1. I'm excited now, but I know I'll be even more excited once I hear back from the consulate. I'm nervous about it, because they may or may not actually approve it.. but I shouldn't think about that now. I've gotta make one step at a time. Tomorrow will either be the end of all my nervousness, or the beginning of a lot more. sigh

As a side note, I've enjoyed my little vacation away from the computer. It needs to be more than just once a year. Now I know why Jen likes to get away from the bustle.
